Camp Eagle

Summer Camp at Camp Eagle is designed to provide safe yet challenging experiences for each camper.  Corporate worship and Bible study are integrated with rock climbing, water activities, rappelling, zip-line, extreme pamper pole and much more.
We believe change happens through relationships, which is why our camp counselors will spend the entire week with your group, getting to know and love the students.  This is accomplished through a 1:10 staff to camper ratio.  Every activity, worship session, small group discussion, hike and time spent in the Word with the speaker will be integrated together to present to each individual an opportunity to know, grow and love Jesus Christ a little more.   Our students said it was the most spiritually intense camp they’d ever been to.  You can check out our camp videos on our facebook page facebook.com/lakewaychurchyouth.  You can also check out Camp Eagle at www.campeagle.org.
We also will be adding Eagle Quest this year for any current 9th-12th graders who would like to go.  This will be our first year to offer this option.  It's a far more challenging option spiritually, physically, and emotionally.  Students will have much more time to spend in solitude in God's creating.  Students will spend nights on the trail or perhaps in a screened in shelter (no Air Conditioned cabins).  They will prepare their own food on the trail and spend much time backpacking, hiking, in small groups studying God's Word, and growing together as a group.  It will be a whole new challenge for some of our older kids.  Any kids choosing this option need to put Eagle Quest on their registration envelope and, again, only current 9th-12th graders have this option.  And they can simply choose the regular Camp Eagle option.

DNOW

Our Disciple Now take place every year in late winter.  It’s a weekend retreat geared to inspire kids in the middle of the school year when the hum-drum of life begins to set in.  DNOW is very different every year but the students generally stay in homes throughout the weekend.  They will have 3 small group sessions with an awesome college student (most are returning students who have come up through our ministry) and that leader will spend all weekend with them even outside the small group sessions.  We also have large group worship sessions which rock throughout the weekend (usually two) where the kids come together as a whole and worship.  We play awesome games throughout the weekend, sometimes do big scavenger hunts, and generally have a lot of fun.  In the past, we’ve had a car bash throughout the weekend, set up and slept in a tent village on the church property, brought in snow for a monster snowball fight, jumped on trampolines all weekend as a fundraiser for International Justice Mission, and we always have lots of fun.  It’s always different and always a blast!  You can look up past DNOW pictures to see what we do on our facebook page.

5th Quarter

5th Quarters take place after Lake Travis Home Football Games and end around 12:30 pm.  It cost $5 to get in the door and every 5th Quarter has a different theme.  We always have a Big Dodgeball Tournament and we also do Laser Tag, a GaGa Ball Tournament, Movie Night, and a Haunted Trail.  It’s a lot of fun, we have a ton of kids come, and everyone is welcome!

Ski Trip

We do a Spring Break Ski Trip for our High School students every other year.  We will be doing on Spring Break 2011.  Typically, we go to Red River New Mexico.  The students lead Bible Study throughout the week.  We ski three days, travel two days, and have a lot of fun and laughs throughout it all.
