The TLC Outreach Committee’s goals are:
- To show God's love by introducing the Lake Travis and greater Austin area people to Jesus Christ and The Lakeway Church.
- To develop practical ways for the members of The Lakeway Church to help meet the spiritual and physical needs of people served by its activities.
At present, there are two sub-committees: Local Area Benevolence/Caring for Neighbors and Missions. These ministries are supported financial by special offerings taken at Christmas and Easter.
Adult mission trips are undertaken several times each year. We have a long-standing relationship with both International Partnerships in Kiev, Ukraine, where we send a group each fall to teach English and Bible studies. In the spring, a group travels to Reynosa, Mexico, to work with the Rio Bravo Children's Home. In October 2010, Pastor Ron will be leading a group of our members to serve the Navajo people in Hardrock, Arizona. YOU can join them! More information on that trip HERE.
Also each June, our STUDENT MINISTRIES lead a group of youths and parents on various mission trips. In June and July 2011, they headed to Waco to serve the homeless, among other projects. In 2010, they traveled to the Rio Bravo Children's Home in Reynosa, Mexico, generally repairing facilities and teaching Vacation Bible School.
"Each one [TLC members] should use whatever gift he or she has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." I Peter 4:10
