At The Lakeway Church, it is a membership requirement that every member must have been baptized.
Baptism doesn’t make you a believer — it shows that you already believe. Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ does that. Baptism is like a wedding ring — it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.
As an interdenominational protestant church, we affirm the practices of baptism expressed in the various denominational roots represented by our church membership. Baptisms are conducted by immersion, sprinkling or anointing.
In addition to believer baptism, we affirm those traditions which retain the baptism of young children in the Church. This ceremony is intended to be a covenant between the parents and God on the behalf of the child. The parents promise to raise their child in the faith until the child is old enough to make his own personal confession of faith in Christ.
To schedule a baptism, contact the church office. You will be directed to the pastor appropriate to your needs.
